Oz came highly recommended from a very experienced and high performing software engineer I know. I was looking for an expert who could define our technology strategy from scratch and define our product development roadmap, with all the options opened, whether to do it in-house, outsource, or do a combination. Oz’s ability to structure the decision, ask the right questions, and drive the right decision rapidly but without neglecting important aspects of the solution, was excellent. While most consultants I’ve known over the years always prefer to wrap their hands around a problem and do it themselves, with their team, Oz showed a great comfort with taking himself out of the equation and demonstrated a high degree of objectivity, leading to outsourcing against my own bias of doing it in-house. Impressive. That said, he was ready to jump in, roll his sleeves and do some coding himself when this was most efficient for our business He also brought experience and practicality to the definition of the development process, making sure time and cost were estimated correctly, and identifying a stellar team to perform the work. He finally was very flexible in accepting strategic constraints from the business into his planning (after a healthy amount of questioning, so he understands them) making my job much easier, so I wouldn't have to have strategic constraints compete with IT criteria, but rather integrate all important decision criteria into the decision as a team.
